Sharks were circling at the Ottolinger Spring/Summer 25 show at Paris Fashion Week, as models strutted out of the mouth of a giant (inflatable) beached shark with bouncy blowouts styled by Chris Appleton using Shark Beauty's newest multi-styling tool.
"I am the shark drifting between cities, my dorsal fin splitting the world like an oyster," said the show notes for the collection of surfing-inspired resort and beach wear.
Appleton, a Global Ambassador for Shark Beauty, touted the brand's FlexFusion multi-styling tool that launched Oct. 1 for creating "sexy, sassy, and uplifting" hair for the show.
"The inspiration for this look was channeling that iconic 90s supermodel glam to align with a very ‘cool girl’ collection — think Cindy Crawford," Appleton says. "The goal was to have the hair fall to the side and bounce as the models walked to add that extra hint of glamour."
Step by Step
Wigs were given a unified cut and length and pre-prepped by being braided down.
- Flatten the wig against the head and set it with wig glue using the FlexFusion's Ultra-Fast Hair Dryer attachment. Appleton notes that the tool's Scalp Shield Technology "will instantly adjust temperature and protect the scalp from extreme heat while we are this close to the root."
- Spray the wig with Color Wow Style on Steroids Texturizing Spray and style using the Wet & Dry Styling Brush attachment to create a blowout that is both voluminous and refined.
- Finish with the FrizzFlighter Finishing Tool attachment to tame any frizz and reduce flyaways, pinning up each section of the hair to maximize volume and hold.
- Let cool and release the hair for bouncy curls.
