While pencil-thin eyebrows were coveted in years past, fuller, natural-looking brows are now the topic of discussion. And, for those who weren't blessed by the brow gods, microblading is quite literally shaping the many ways women are able to alter their arches.
Because microblading is a semi-permanent option, many women have the service done to fill in sparse areas or to simply even out their eyebrows. But, what if your client wants thicker, bushier brows that match the likes of Cara Delevigne and Lily Collins? Thanks to a service that Evertrue Microblading Salon is calling Fluffy Microblading, that dream can become a reality.
Ramon Padilla, founder and CEO of Evertrue Microblading Salon, noticed a growing trend among women: big, bold brows. He was also constantly receiving requests to mimic these types of brows through microblading, and so he decided to offer a new type of service. At EverTrue, clients can now opt for bespoke brows, which are natural-looking and created stroke-by-stroke; ombre brows for a more polished, makeup effect; and the new fluffy brow service, which creates large, lush brows that last for up to 18 months.
Though it's a different variation of the service, the technique remains the same. "Just like the other options, pigment is delicately embedded into skin to replicate brow hairs," Padilla says. "ith fluffy microblading, the placement needs to be different to create the thick, bold effect." We sat down with Padilla to ask him a few other questions about microblading.
Q. What advice would you give to someone looking into offering microblading in their salon?
A. Practice a lot, and try to get as much experience working on a wide range of people (ages, skin types, face shapes). Even for someone with a lot of talent, it's impossible to learn everything in a week-long course. If possible, apprentice with an experienced microblading artist. And be patient, microblading is a skill honed over months, if not years.
Q. How do you determine pricing for microblading?
A. Clients are paying for expertise and time. The service often takes multiple visits to perfect, with each visit taking several hours. At EverTrue Microblading Salon we charge based on the skill level of the therapist, with pricing that ranges from $515 to $915 for brows.
Q. What tips would you share about fluffy microblading versus the typical microblading service?
A. Every good microblading specialist should be able to offer a wide range of brow styles to meet the needs of a broad clientele. The fluffy brow is another good option for clients to choose from.
