A month-long fundraising initiative by Ulta Beauty, both in its U.S. stores and online, has yielded more than $2.4 million for the youth mentorship nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS), the beauty retail giant has announced.
The funds will support wellness and mental-health programs, training, and resources for 200 BBBS agencies that reach 5,000 communities across the U.S.
From mid-May to mid-June, Ulta Beauty customers and associates had the option to donate at checkout in nearly 1,400 retail stores and on Ulta.com, as well as through local community events.
“As the challenges facing America's youth grow in our rapidly changing society, mentorship has proven to be a powerful tool in helping to build resilience and a sense of belonging for young people," BBBS President and CEO Artis Stevens says.
"Through a shared passion for uplifting young people, we look forward to continuing to work with Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation to ensure we provide resources and opportunities that ignite the power and promise of youth nationwide."
