Pick Which Nonprofit Gets Big $$$ From Hairstory

Hairstory, the company behind New Wash all-in-one hair cleansers, is donating $50K to four sustainable water organizations for Earth Month and is asking the public to choose which will receive the biggest piece of the pie.

Three of the non-profits will receive a $10K contribution, while the one that racked up the most first-place votes will get $20K. The organizations, all members of the 1% for the Planet network, are:

Well Aware, which provides clean water access to communities in East Africa through infrastructure projects;

Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a scientific conservation center in Florida dedicated to ocean and sea turtle conservation;

Riverkeeper, which works to rid the Hudson River of trash and hazardous waste and provide a clean ecosystem for human and marine life; and

Clean Water Fund, which partners with communities across the U.S. to work for legislative changes that improve, prevent, or clean up health-threatening pollution in waterways.

Vote here during Earth Month, April 2024.

Hairstory’s signature New Wash cleansing creams are touted as eco-friendly alternatives to conventional shampoos and conditioners. The company has shown a commitment to sustainability since it launched in 2015, with a core belief that cleansing without traditional shampoos is healthier for hair and scalp as well as the environment.

Its lineup, which also includes styling products and color enhancers, are all Leaping Bunny certified and come in sustainable packaging. All are formulated with botanical ingredients, color safe, and free of toxic ingredients including detergents, sulfates, parabens, and silicon.

Hairstory has donated more than $382K to grassroots environmental projects since 2016, with over 100K going to water conservation and protection efforts, the company says.
