OLAPLEX, the hair-care giant that introduced “bond building” to the global beauty lexicon, has announced its newest patented Bond Shaping Technology, formulated to repair the internal structure of curly hair of all types and textures.
The new technology strengthens and reshapes curl-forming bonds and locks them into place to rebuild natural curl patterns, the company says.
Specifically, it contains a unique peptide composed of 23 amino acids to reconnect and strengthen up to six points of disulfide bonds, which are more prevalent in curly hair.
With the announcement, the company launched two new Bond Shaping products: Bond Shaper Curl Rebuilding Treatment, a professional 3-step salon service which contains the new Bond Shaping Technology, and No.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel, a reparative home-care styling product.
Both products are formulated with OLAPLEX’s original Bond Building Technology; a Curl Retention Compound made of humidity-resistant flexible polymers, plant collagen, and sugars; and coconut-avocado milk to nourish and condition.
“We are excited to expand our professional service offerings and bring our unique OLAPLEX science and technology to the curl community,” says OLAPLEX CEO Amanda Baldwin, “which is a highly engaged and underserved market.”
