Look Good Feel Better Teaming Up with JCPenney Salons

Now in its 35th year, Look Good Feel Better has launched an initiative to train licensed cosmetologists in more than 600 JCPenney Salons nationwide to lead beauty and wellness workshops for cancer patients.

The partnership was announced recently at Look Good Feel Better’s annual BeautyCares DreamBall Gala in New York, which raised more than $1 million for the nonprofit.

“This groundbreaking partnership with Look Good Feel Better will enrich the lives of those with cancer,” says JCPenney executive Michelle Wlazlo, “while offering our employees the opportunity to give back to their communities in a very powerful and meaningful way.”

The initiative will certify JCPenney Salon employees to facilitate Look Good Feel Better workshops for cancer patients, and to act as ambassadors for the program in the salon.

The nonprofit’s free in-person and virtual workshops are offered in English and Spanish, and address the physical side effects of cancer treatment. They cover skincare and makeup, wigs and head coverings, nail care, body image, and styling.

Their facilitators are beauty professionals knowledgeable about the specific needs of people in cancer treatment or recovery.

Founded in 1989, Look Good Feel Better is a collaboration between the Personal Care Products Council and the Professional Beauty Association. It has served more than 2.2 million cancer patients in 27 countries.
