Look Good Feel Better Calling on Beauty Pros to Volunteer

The nonprofit organization Look Good Feel Better is putting out a call to action for licensed beauty professionals in specific areas across the U.S. to volunteer with cancer patients to help improve their appearance, confidence, and self-esteem.

Licensed beauty professionals are needed to lead virtual group workshops for women undergoing cancer treatment, and/or to host in-person events at hospitals and cancer centers.

Those interested in volunteering receive an online, self-paced training from Look Good Feel Better to prepare them to lead workshops in hair, skin, and scalp care, makeup, wig care and styling, and other topics designed to help bring confidence and normalcy to those in cancer treatment.

“Anytime I went to see the doctor or the nurses or had to go for infusions, I always made sure I had some makeup on. I did not want to look like I'm very sick. It made me feel that cancer was not going to beat me,” says cancer survivor Lily Garfield, who calls Look Good Feel Better services “part of mentally fighting this disease.”
