Working at a 984-foot-long beauty station — the largest ever created — more than 600 licensed stylists in Ibiza recently nabbed the Guinness World Record for the most people styling hair simultaneously.
A pedestrian square in the heart of the Spanish island served as the outdoor salon where more than 1,500 local residents received free hair looks from volunteer beauty professionals vying for the record.
The station, set up along the Paseo Vara de Rey in Ibiza Town, included hundreds of chairs equipped with mirrors, products, and electrical outlets.
The hairstyling challenge was part of the Graceful Giving 25th-anniversary event by Z One Concept, the Italian parent company of such brands as milk_shake, DEPOT, and Medavita.
To qualify, stylists had to be simultaneously working for 10 minutes and take before-and-after photos showing "a noticeable transformation" for their clients.
The new record was announced later in the evening with a total of 479 confirmed stylists. It broke the standing record of 364 stylists achieved by Oribe in 2013.
