This month, Rusk unveiled a fresh set of styling products: RuskPRO. To showcase just what the 10-product lineup is capable of accomplishing, BaBylissPRO VP of Creative and Education Luis Alvarez and the BaBylissPRO artistic team pushed creative limits with athletic-inspired, fashion-forward looks, collectively called Urban Squad. Shot at the 5,000-square-foot studio inside the BaBylissPRO headquarters in Stamford, CT, the collection combines the high-impact color of Rusk Deepshine with the styling power of RuskPRO. Take a look at the entire collection featured in our October issue here.

Maybe Saylor for RuskPRO created pops of color using Rusk Deepshine and new Color Gloss, while Wanda Alvarez for Satin Smooth opted for a sporty makeup look, placing a vibrant strip of color under the lower eyelid, resembling the eye black that football players wear.

Takashi Kitamura gave edgy cuts, while Nicole Fowler for RuskPRO was on styling duty. She smoothed the cover model’s hair using Define02 and applied Seal03 before using the BaBylissPRO Prima3000 to create texture. Polish03 and a misting of Finish04 completed the look. Alvarez was behind the lens, capturing the artistry in action.

“I always believe photo shoots, especially editorial stories, are a team sport,” Alvarez said. “It’s about the fusion of hair, fashion, makeup, nails and attitude.”
