The beauty industry lost a great talent this past Friday. Susan Sommers, 73, beauty and style editor, passed away on November 3 from ovarian cancer, The New York Times reported. Sommers, who was once the editor in chief at American Salon and a contributor for Harper’s Bazaar, Town & Country, Ladies’ Home Journal and Woman’s Day, among others, also worked with Vogue, The New Yorker and Revlon on special projects. She was also the founder and president of Dresszing, a consultancy for personal branding and wardrobing. Donations in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, ASPCA, Smile Train, Fresh Air Fund or Ovarian Cancer Research.
