Vanessa Hudgens has certainly come a long way since her High School Musical days. On top of multiple leading movie roles, partnerships with major brands like Neutrogena and a judging role on the most recent season of So You Think You Can Dance, the star can now add SOCOLOR Cult Icon to her impressive resume.
More than 3,000 were in attendance at last weekend's ULTA Beauty General Manager Conference where they witnessed the trendsetter receive the Matrix/ULTA Beauty SOCOLOR Cult Icon award. According to a press release, Hudgens was chosen for the award because of her fearless and enthusiastic approach to all things beauty and fashion—a perfect representation of Matrix's new SOCOLOR Cult haircolor line.
Sporting vibrant pink hair, Hudgens accepted the award saying, "We all know the importance of being able to express ourselves freely, so I am thrilled to be a Cult Icon, because what better way to express yourself than by changing your haircolor?"
Nick Stenson, Matrix celebrity stylist and ULTA Beauty vice president of salon Services and trend, followed Hudgens' acceptance speech with a question and answer session. During the course of the Q&A, Hudgens noted the importance of working with hairdressers she trusts. "They understand when I change my hair, it not only affects my look, but my career," she noted. "You have to be sure your hairstylist gets it and puts your best interests first."
