Former Moroccanoil Global Vice President of Sales Jay Elarar was appointed CEO of leading argan oil beauty brand Moroccanoil, bringing experience in data-driven decision making, professional salon channel operations and distribution strategy.
Elarar started with the company as director of sales in 2012, when it was just five years old. As he worked his way up the corporate ladder, he found new ways to drive growth and advance the company’s interests. In his role as CEO, he will continue his efforts in the professional salon channel as well as focus on omnichannel operations in ecommerce, retail, travel retail and international markets. In terms of professional and educational projects, Elarar plans to open a new 8,500-square-foot academy in Manhattan in 2020, and he’s partnering with co-founder Carmen Tal on sustainability efforts in packaging, waste and energy use.
