The Goldwell Expert Panel recently announced this year’s U.S. Finalists for the 2018 Goldwell Color Zoom Challenge. Leading colorists from across the country submitted entries for one of the three Color Zoom Challenge Categories: Creative Artist, New Talent Artist and Partner Artist. Entrants were tasked with using the brand’s ELEMENTAL Color Zoom Collection for their inspiration and interpret it in their own style and look this theme challenged stylists to reimagine dimensions and break down the traditional conventions of color, shape, cut and texture.
In June, applicants were narrowed to 15 semi-finalists by a prestigious panel of industry expert panelists. Following the semi-finalist round, the Goldwell Hair Color Global judges’ panel selected three Gold, Silver and Bronze U.S. Finalists, one for each category.
2018 U.S. Gold Finalists include: Creative Artist, Sophia Ance of Studio Sage (Jackson Beach, FL); New Talent Artist, Alicia Capazzoli of Hair by Scott & Co. (Delray Beach, FL); and Partner Artist, Odete Da Silva of Artistex Salon & Spa (Westport, CT). All three National Gold Finalists will have the honor of competing live on behalf of the United States in the 2018 Color Zoom International Competition in Toronto, Canada on September 30th. There, contestants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and compete against other Gold finalists from around the world for a spot on the Global Color Zoom Creative Team.
This year’s Silver Finalists include: Creative Artist, Ariel Bello of Aurelio Salon (Toms River, NJ); New Talent Artist, Sarah Peake of Volume ONE (Pensacola, FL); and Partner Artist, Natalie Cavagnulo of Talie V Beauty (Delray Beach, FL). This year’s Bronze Finalists include: Creative Artist, Randy Evans of The Collective (Seattle, WA); New Talent Artist, Elizabeth Edmondson of Volume ONE (Pensacola, FL); and Partner Artist, Johnny Kelly of Fringe Hair Studio (Smithtown, NY).
Finally, the Color Zoom Challenge will include the fourth annual Stylists’ Favorites Award, which allows people from all over the world to vote online for their favorite Gold competitor in each category. Voting will be held from September 1st till through the 15th of September 2018 on www.goldwell.com/stylistsfavorite and winners will be announced onstage during the Global Zoom Gala Show in October.
