Here are the makeup and skincare products used by celebrity men's grooming experts Lola Okanlawon and Jamie Richmond to style Colman Domingo and Usher for the 2024 Met Gala.
Colman Domingo
The actor brought the drama in custom Willy Chavarria.
"The look is sexy and romantic. Colman really wanted to honor men who came before him with his look," Richmond says.
"To start, I make sure Colman’s skin is fresh & clean using La Mer Cool Micellar Cleanser. After cleansing, I groom & shape his mustache with my favorite Andis beard edger. To ensure his skin glows all day, I follow up with Aesop Blue Chamomile Hydrating Mask.
"After masking, I add La Mer Lifting & Firming serum for hydration all day, followed by Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Water Powder Serum. To give the serums an ultra boost, help with travel puffiness, and add extra glow, I use the Solawave Red Light Therapy wand.
"To finish, I apply Aesop Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream — this is a matte finish moisturizer that balances all the super-glow products we use in his skin prep."
Richmond used Danessa Myricks Beauty complexion products.
"I start with Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint to really even out his complexion. Since this is the Met, we’re pushing his glow a bit, and using Colorfix Liquid Metal in Licla Flame mixed with his skin tint to pop on the high points of his face.
"For concealer, I use Vision Cream Cover where needed. I add a bit of Blurring Balm Powder to finish his complexion, and make sure that he is set for the night. To blend Colman’s hairline and bring everything together, I use Balm Contour. To finish the look tonight, we are using Colorfix Mattes in Chestnut, and a clear gloss to really pop his pout.”

Usher
Makeup artist Lola Okanlawon shared a moment with Usher before the 2024 Met Gala in a BTS Instagram Reel. She used Danessa Myricks Beauty products to give the musician, who wore an Alexander McQueen ensemble, his finished complexion.

Step-by-Step
- Prep the skin with CeraVe Ultra Light Moisturizing Gel.
- Choose a ColorFix Nude shade that matches the skin tone. Then apply a small amount to the back of your hand and use a small Fluffy stippling brush to spot-treat and color-correct any blemishes on the skin. You can use the ColorFix Nudes as a contour or bronzer. Apply a small amount to the hollows of the cheeks, temples, and jawline, then blend well for a natural look.
- After the ColorFix has dried, apply a small amount of Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint to the back of your hand and use the Microfiber Velvet Sponge to gently blend it into the skin, starting from the center of the face and blending outwards.
- Using the Velour Puff, press the Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder into the skin to help mattify the T-Zone and lock in the skin tint.
- Finish the look with Caudalie setting spray.
