Christian Siriano's NYFW Show Uses TRESemmé Products

Here's how to achieve the Rosie Twist seen on the runway by Coco Rocha, Alexina Graham, and Bruna Liìrio during Christian Siriano NYFW FW '23 show. Inspired by the elegant, yet fierce embodiment of a rose, Lacy Redway created a romantic updo that is a nod to Christian Siriano’s polished collection. Complimenting the whimsical floral designs, this charming updo delivers a rose-like twist on the classic chignon.

The Inspiration:

“Christian’s collection is stunning. It feels ethereal and romantic. We were inspired by the hand-crafted floral accents found throughout the collection to echo this in the hair by creating a rose-like twist, with a “stem” of hair weaving down the crown of the head, meeting the rose-like bun in the back,” said Lacy Redway, Unilever stylist & celebrity hair artist.

Key Products Used:

TRESemmé products used: TRESemmé One Step Blowout Balm, TRESemmé Extra Hold Mousse, TRESemmé Freeze Hold Hair Spray

How-to get the look:

  • Step 1: Begin by applying TRESemmé One Step Blowout Balm from roots to ends to smooth, protect against heat, reduce frizz, and boost shine. Before blow-drying, apply a handful of TRESemmé Extra Hold Mousse, for maximum hold and control, around the perimeter of the hairline and brush into hair.
  • Step 2: Section out a diagonal piece of hair at the hairline, which will later be placed on top of the head, creating the stem. Blow dry the rest of the hair away from the hairline, pulling it into a tight ponytail at the center. Pro Tip: Use the top of the ear as a guide for ponytail placement on the back of the head.
  • Step 3: Once hair is tied into a ponytail using an elastic, begin twisting small sections onto themselves using a figure eight motion, pinning each section to the base of the ponytail. This will help create the look of rose petals in the bun.
  • Step 4: Spray the diagonal section of hair left out of the ponytail with TRESemmé Freeze Hold Hair Spray to set in place before weaving it in an “S” like pattern from the hairline towards the rose-like twist. Secure with hair pins and finish the look with TRESemmé Freeze Hold Hair Spray as you weave, creating the stem of The Rosie Twist.
