Get the Look: Chappell Roan's Medieval VMAs Hair

Chappell Roan looked absolutely medieval rocking up to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards wearing a sheer tulle Y/Project gown with her hair in long, natural waves and braids. The singer won "Best New Artist" that night.

Her look was created by the singer's hairstylist, Dom Forletta, using Olivia Garden tools and products from the Bumble and bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil line. Forletta is credited with creating Roan's most iconic tour styles.

Her Renaissance red-carpet vibe coordinated with Roan's performance look, in which she sang her hit song "Good Luck, Babe!" wearing chainmail knight's armor and wielding a crossbow and a sword, her hair in two long braids.

Technique

Dom prepped her hair with Invisible Oil Primer and blow-dried it. He then applied Hairdresser's Invisible Oil and curled her hair.

In the front, Dom sectioned the hair to braid and then pin back, applying Long Last Styling Cream to soften and secure the braids.

For the back, Dom created a netted braid piece to attach to Roan's hair.
