Redken Global Creative Director Guido shows off his volume versatility for the Fall/Winter 2016 shows.
The look at Miu Miu this season was as if a girl tried to create a boy’s hairstyle. It’s a little ‘40s or ‘50s, mixed with an ‘80s high-volume style. I combed gel into the hair so that the comb marks were visible, forming a wet appearance and a jewel texture. I wanted to achieve a good amount of volume on top, so I applied several layers of Redken guts 10 to the hair, set it with Redken triple take 32 hairspray and then let it dry naturally in the back.

At Ralph Lauren, there was a real sense of ease to the glamour. To enhance the girls’ natural beauty, I used the new Redken Beach Envy Shampoo and Conditioner which are lightweight and create great texture. After lightly spraying Redken Beach Envy Volume Wave Aid to bulk it up from within, I let the hair dry naturally for a clean hair look that still has really nice movement.
Coach was all about the ‘cool girl.’ Messy ponytails, side parts and swept bangs created individuality for each girl, with broken pieces around the face to add character in the front. I used Redken wax blast 10, focusing on the roots, to put some height at the crown—which is always very flattering. Then, I brushed through the ponytail and sprayed on Redken wax blast 10 to make the texture edgier and create choppy dimension.
