When it comes to creating a new image, styling can have just as great an impact as bold colors or cuts. That was what Luis Alvarez had in mind when conceptualizing the shoot for Versa—short for “versatility”—the latest collection from BaBylissPRO. The VP of marketing, creative and education of the Conair PRO division, who is an accomplished hairdresser in his own right, along with the Artistic Team, called on innovative tools and styling products to give one model six beautifully different looks. “We made her look everything from romantic to sexy to edgy to polished,” he says. “It was fun to see her face every time we changed her hair. That was the most rewarding part of the experience. That’s really what it’s all about.”
Here, a mohawk style gets a feminine touch. The team sprayed hair with Aquage Beyond Body, then styled it with BaBylissPRO 1½-inch Marcel. They deconstructed the curls with Aquage Transforming Paste Lite and styled them into place with Aquage Transforming Spray.
The team created this twisted updo by first pressing hair with the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Ultra Thin 1½-inch Flat Iron and using Aquage Working Spray to starch and seal the hair. Then they backcombed strands into place using Aquage Finishing Spray to build the structure. The Aquage Smoothing Brush and Aquage Beyond Shine gave a smooth finish.

These tousled waves were achieved by blow-styling hair with the BaBylissPRO Rapido Dryer and Aquage Uplifting Foam. For extra texture, the team called on Aquage Remolding Elastic.
For this high-volume updo, the hair was styled with BaBylissPRO Prima 3000 and starched with Aquage Working Spray. The set was broken up with a wide-tooth comb and Aquage Finishing Spray. For definition, the team ran fingers through the hair with Aquage Remolding Elastic before coiffing the asymmetrical shape.
The team diffused the hair with the BaBylissPRO Rapido Dryer and Aquage Volumizing Mist, then folded sections of hair from either side and locked them into place on top with pins. They gave the look deconstructed texture by pulling out sections and finished with Aquage Freezing Spray.
First, Aquage Dry Shampoo was blow-dried into the hair to increase texture. Then the team loosely pinned hair into place, letting layers sweep across the forehead, and secured the look with Aquage Finishing Spray.
