Cutting instructor Jamie McDaniel has been getting a lot of requests for "Sabrina Carpenter bangs" from clients and stylists who want to replicate the singer-actress' signature fringe.
“Sabrina Carpenter’s fringe has a little framing action around the eyes,” says McDaniel, a Sam Villa ArTeam educator. “The bangs aren’t overly textured; there’s a bit more bluntness to the ends.”
This might be the perfect fringe for those with finer hair, she says.
Here's how to recreate the Short 'n Sweet artist's trademark look.
Step by Step: Sabrina Carpenter Bangs
- Create a triangle section where the fringe lives from the outside corner of each eye.
- Divide left from right.
- Overdirect left to right and right to left with no elevation and a horizontal finger position.
- Point cut for a soft finish on the ends.
“This overdirection movement is perfect for creating that framing around the eyes that we’re looking for,” McDaniel says.
“The beauty is, this fringe can be pushed to either side or worn straight down,” McDaniel adds.
Styling
There are two ways to approach the strong bevel Sabrina Carpenter has. McDaniel uses Sam Villa pro tools:
- Blow-dry hair using a 1" thermal round brush, making sure the hair curls around the barrel. Once completely dry, hit it with a cool shot to lock in the bend.
Run a flat iron through the fringe. Guide hair around the thermal round brush while it is cooling down to form a bend.
