The legendary celebrity stylist Garren, co-founder of R+Co and R+Co BLEU, leaned heavily on three new R+Co BLEU styling products to fulfill Anna Sui's rockabilly vision for the designer's Spring/Summer 2025 Lookbook.
“This look is very cute, very Anna," says Garren. "She wanted it to be kind of ‘rocker,’ the way guys used to wear their hair, rolled forward."
Helping Garren and his team secure the looks were the newly launched R+Co Bleu F-Layer Detangling Mist, Root Booster Volume Spray, and Ultra Dry Texture Spray.
Garren started with the Detangling Mist to effortlessly remove snags and tangles, and layered the others on top."I love the Root Booster Volume Spray because it’s so gentle and doesn’t feel stiff. It has memory, and makes the hair more fluid and voluminous," he says.
"The Ultra Dry Texture Spray is the answer to having voluminous hair with a little bit of disarray. Use it on finished hair that’s dried and styled – your hair will be touchable, manageable and won’t lose its body," Garren says. "You can manipulate it and apply it over and over, and it will never feel sticky, gummy or stiff."
The vibes all came together to produce a fashion-forward statement for the 2025 S/S lookbook. "The clothes are very demure with delicate patterns, soft colors, lace and beautiful prints. The beauty look is a contradiction to the clothes," Garren says.
"The makeup is avant-garde, and the hair is twisted onto the forehead. It’s a very cool look."
Get the Looks
Look 1
- Use the Detangling Mist to prep the hair and Root Booster Volume Spray in the front triangle section. Apply R+Co BLEU Essential Hair Tonic on the sides and back sections.
- Then, blow hair out loosely to get volume and texture into the hair.
- Next, take the hair sectioned at the top and back, and comb with a brush in a forward direction.
- Then roll it over your hand, dip it down on the forehead, and secure it with bobby pins.
- To finish the look, use R+Co BLEU Cult Classic Flexible Hairspray on the quiff so the hair stays in place. For the back of the hair, comb through it and let it be natural.
Look 2
- Let the hair air dry until it’s 50-80 percent dry. Then, section the hair with a triangle section at the top.
- Apply Essential Hair Tonic on the sides and back of the hair. Part the hair down the middle and do two loose braids from below the ear down.
- Apply Root Booster Volume Spray and Essential Hair Tonic to the top section, and rough-dry the hair with a blow dryer.
- Roll hair back with two small Velcro rollers at the forehead to get texture in the hair.
- Diffuse the whole head, both the braids and the rollered section, until hair is thoroughly dry.
- Take out the braids from the sides/ back of the hair and apply R+CO Bleu Optical Illusion Smoothing Oil to separate hair and enhance the natural, soft wave from the braids.
- Backcomb the front/ top section with a Mason Pearson brush, and spray in Ultra Dry Texture Spray.
- Wrap this section around your hand, loop and twist it into a figure 8 on the forehead. Loosen the front pieces a little, and secure it with bobby pins.
- To finish the look, spray R+Co BLEU Featherlight Hairspray just on the knot for light hold.
