Fashion Week has officially begun and that means a week long soiree combining the latest fall and winter fashion with the ultimate runway glitz and glam. While a majority of shows are taking place in New York City, business mogul and fashion extraordinaire Rachel Zoe showcased her fall/winter '18 collection a little closer to home.
The designer debuted her Bowie-inspired collection and accompanying ’70s glam hair and makeup on Monday night at the Jeremy Hotel in Hollywood, California. The brushed out, soft airy waves were created with Oilvia Garden tools, and evoked an effortless Studio-54 vide to complement Zoe’s collection.
"We were inspired by the late 60s, early 70s brushed out wave with the volume and glamour of the 90s," says OGX Brand Ambassador, Jillian Halouska. "It is Jane Birkin and Jean Shrimpton meet Cindy Crawford and her glamazon crew."
Get the Look:
Step 1: Start with dry hair and a center part. Use OGX Bodifying + Fiber Full Root Boosting Spray Mousse on the roots to saturate the hair for styling and to create maximum texture.
Step 2: Then rough dry hair, massaging the product with your hands into the scalp. Repeat as many times as needed until you reach a desired texture.
Step 3: Section off the hair and hold with Olivia Garden Double Clips. Starting below the root, apply a quick drying thermal spray on each section of the hair to create movement and an airy style.
Step 4: Use a blow dryer – without the nozzle – on medium heat, and the Olivia Garden iDetangle Brush to blow out the ends and reestablish the hair’s natural hold.
Step 5: Loosely wrap horizontal 2” sections of hair around a 1 1⁄4” curling iron. Start at the root, focusing on the mid-shaft and avoiding the ends, and rock the base to create a tousled wave.
Step 6: Once the hair has been curled, apply a humidity blocking hairspray to the hair and brush the curls out with the iDetangle Brush for a slightly undone, feathery finish.
Step 7: To lock in the style, apply a lightweight, flexible setting spray to create a smooth and sleek look with natural wave and volume.
