Bridal Fashion Week just wrapped up in New York City, offering a pleasant contrast to the bustling NYFW that took place less than a month ago. Different than the ready-to-wear collections of NYFW, Bridal Fashion Week made some seriously strong trend predictions for brides in 2018—short dresses, jumpsuits and blazers to name a few. Of course, no look was complete without a couture hairstyle to match. Below, some of the trending runway looks and detailed step-by-steps to recreate for your client's big day.

Hair by Cutler SOHO stylist Brian Buenaventura for Redken, photo by Maria Valentino at Reem Acra Fall 2018
- Part the hair into a side part using your fingers.
- Backcomb hair at the crown of the head to give it additional lift and volume.

- Place the braid over the front of the hair, where the back-combed part is. Pin the braid close to the head and secure braid with a bobby pin.
- Grab all the hair in a loose, low ponytail.
- Take the ponytail in your hands and wrap it around to create a low, loose knot.
- Soften the hairline with your fingertips to allow the baby hairs to show to keep the look romantic and wispy.
- Finish with Redken Fashion Work 12 Hairspray for flexible hold.
Edgy Ponytail
Hair by Michael Thomas Lollo for amika, photograph by Yuri Semenyuk at Galia Lahav Fall 2018
- Apply amika Bombshell Blowout Spray to damp hair, and blow dry with the amika Immortal Power-Life Dryer.
- Create a center part, and then section off the hair. Using the amika Chameleon Interchangeable Curling Kit, wrap each section around the curler barrel to create a bend, and the straighten using the amika Confidante Moisture Maintenance Styler to remove any curls—leaving a relaxed bend in the hair.
- Once the ideal texture is achieved, gather a small section from each side of the head from the lower ear across to the center of the head to form a ponytail. Tie with a silver elastic.
- Take sections from this ponytail and pin the hair into itself.
- Gather the remaining hair and create a ponytail at the base of the head, below the pinned section. Tie with a silver elastic to create a double ponytail.
- To finish the style, apply amika Un.Done Texture Spray to break up any stiff areas for an edgy look with a soft finish.
