Best Beauty Moments of the Oscars 2019

The 91st annual Oscars, though hostless, was host to a bevy of beauty looks. Here's how to get the winning styles of the night.

LUCY BOYNTON, the Bohemian Rhapsody star who's dating co-star Rami Malek, opted for a quintessential Hollywood bob, "a modern nod to the classic style of Grace Kelly," said celebrity stylist Jenny Cho (@jennychohair), who created the look. After blow-drying hair with a small round brush, she set it with 1-inch Velcro rollers. She continued to set each section this way, and when she reached the top, she made a deep side part and followed the rollers parallel to the part, down to the ears. Then she misted flexible hairspray all over and let cool, before removing rollers and sculpting the hairline for an S-shaped flat curl to frame the face, tucking the light side behind the ear.

ASHLEY GRAHAM took the velvet bow trend to a new level on the red carpet. Celebrity stylist Justine Marjan (@justinemarjan) blow-dried the model's hair with a center part, then flat-ironed roots, directing hair away from the face. Next, she gathered the top of the hair and applied extra hold gel to the roots, brushing back with a flat brush and securing with an elastic. She repeated on the bottom section, tilting the head back as she secured. Next, Marjan applied a hairnet over the ponytail and twisted it into a bun, securing with French pins. She topped off the look with Jennifer Behr bows throughout the hair, secured with French pins, and misted with extra hold hairspray.

BRADLEY COOPER wanted his hair to "look relaxed and styled back for the Oscars," said celebrity groomer Natalia Bruschi (@nataliabruschi). She prepped hair with Redken Brews 3-in-1, then lightly blow-dried it with her fingers. Next, she used a small amount of Brews Cream Pomade, emulsified it between her palms, and raked her fingers through his hair in a backwards direction to softly hold the style and add texture. She locked the look in place with Brews Hairspray.

BRIE LARSON dazzled in her high-slit Celine dress, which was perfectly balanced by a simple wavy style. “I wanted her hair to have a cool girl slept-in textured soft and not over shiny look to complement her sparkling dress," said Moroccanoil Celebrity Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett (@brycescarlett). He applied Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse at the roots and Blow Dry Concentrate at the ends, then blow-dried hair with a round brush for smoothness and body. He bent hair with a flat-iron to create different sized S-waves throughout, and broke up waves with his fingers before applying Dry Texture Spray, making sure to keep the arch around the frame of the face. Luminous Hairspray Medium helped achieve the tousled finished look.

LAURA HARRIER's updo was thought up during her fitting when she had her natural curly hair up. "We loved that it was feminine, soft and pretty without looking too done. It’s fresh and young," said celebrity stylist Jennifer Yepez (@jennifer_yepez). She applied volumizing spray section by section, from the roots to ends, and blow-dried with a medium round brush. Next, she alternated between 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch curling irons on 1-inch sections, before massaging in dry shampoo texturizing spray with her hands to break up the curls. She combed out the curls with a large tooth comb, then took out a few face-framing pieces before sectioning the hair ear to ear, pulling it up and pinning in place with bobby pins. She then combed the back of the hair up with her fingers so it didn't look too polished.

LADY GAGA's classic Hollywood-style—sleek black gown, long gloves and the Tiffany Diamond (last worn by Audrey Hepburn)—was quite literally topped off with an equally classic updo. Frédéric Aspiras (@fredericaspiras) prepped hair with Joico Defy Damage Protective Shield, then blow-dried hair away from the face before using a curling iron to create loose curls from the mid-shaft to ends. He let them cool loose, then gathered hair into two ponytails—a larger one at the crown and a smaller one at the back of the head—then backcombed hair and shaped it into a wavy bun. He defined curls with a wave wand and used hairspray for extra hold.
